Olympics volleyball qualifiers: Russia 3-0 Iran

Russia have booked a seat in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games after defeating Iran’s National Volleyball Team in straight sets in Saint Petersburg.

According to Press TV, the 2019 Volleyball Nations League Champions were the better side of the match in the opening set and grabbed it 25-18.

It was a close contest in the 2nd set, but the Russians kept up the momentum and finished it 25-23 in their favor.

Iran’s Team showed a reasonable performance and took a 20-17 lead in the 3rd before the hosts fought back and managed to finish it 25-23.

Iran should continue their qualification matches in Asia in order to find a spot in the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
