Behooves all Muslims to stand against Zionism: Leader’s adviser

A senior adviser to Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei says the attack by enemies of Islam on the Syrian government and nation is an assault on the resistance front against Zionism, urging all Muslims to stand against Zionists.

“All of us are duty-bound to defend resistance because resistance is Muslims standing against aggression and occupation of Islamic territories by Zionists and their supporters,” Ali Akbar Velayati said in a meeting with members of the General Secretariat of the Arab and Islamic Gathering Forum on Supporting Resistance in Tehran on Thursday, Press TV reported.

While Muslim youths are defending Islamic lands and principles against the evil and perverse Zionist and US enemies, it is necessary that such a union of university professors, physicians and lawmakers be formed to support these defenders of Islam by enlightening the public opinion, he added.

Velayati, who advises Ayatollah Khamenei on international affairs, said all of the ongoing developments in Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan are emanating from a single US and Crusades-like source.

He noted that resistance has different types and said, “The Iraqi government, nation and army, which are fighting against Daesh [ISIL terrorists] and have managed to carry out very important tasks, are examples of resistance against Zionists.”

Velayati said injured Daesh terrorists receive medical treatment in the occupied territories by Zionists physicians which shows the nature of Takfiri terrorists.

Daesh has recently lost a significant portion of the territories it used to control in Iraq and Syria as government forces in both countries have pushed forward to retake towns and villages from the group.
