Iran voices support for FIFA World Cup

Iran's foreign minister expressed the country’s support for the holding of FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar.

According to Tasnim news agency, in a telephone conversation with his Qatari counterpart, Iranian Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian pointed to the arrival of Iran’s National Football Team (Team Melli) in Doha, announcing Iran’s support for Qatar in hosting the 2022 FIFA World Cup while wishing success for the Doha government.

The two foreign ministers also discussed some issues of mutual interest, international developments, and the latest subjects regarding the sanctions removal talks.

For his part, the Qatari foreign minister expressed pleasure with the arrival of the Iranian National Football Team in Qatar and wished success for the Iranian team.

Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani also praised the Islamic Republic of Iran’s constant support for the Arab country.
