President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi says Muslim countries must cement unity and confront Israel's savagery against the oppressed Palestinian people.

"Muslim nations demand that statesmen confront the crimes of the Zionist regime towards the oppressed Palestinian people," Raeisi said in a meeting with Hicabi Kırlangıç, Turkey's new ambassador to Tehran, on Sunday.

"Therefore, it is necessary for Muslim countries to be more coordinated in standing up against the Israeli brutality."

Over the past months, Israel has ramped up attacks on Palestinian towns and cities throughout the occupied territories. As a result of these attacks, dozens of Palestinians have lost their lives and many others have been arrested.

Most of the raids have focused on Nablus and Jenin, where Israeli forces have been trying to stifle a growing Palestinian resistance against occupation.

The attacks have noticeably increased during the blessed month of Ramadan, with Israeli forces repeatedly storming al-Aqsa mosque in occupied al-Quds, beating Palestinian worshipers before arresting them.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Raeisi pointed to deep-rooted relations between Iran and Turkey and said, "Despite efforts by the ill-wishers, we must rely on the religious and cultural commonalities and work for the deepening and expansion of relations among Muslim states countries in various fields."

The new Turkish ambassador, who submitted his credentials to President Raeisi, said his country enjoys cordial relations with Iran. He vowed to make his utmost efforts to improve bilateral cooperation and increase exchanges and interactions between the two sides.
