Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council: Resistance is the national asset of Lebanon and the Islamic world

Pars Today – The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that resistance is the national asset of Lebanon and of all Islamic countries, and that enemies seek to use propaganda to swap the roles of friend and foe.

Ali Larijani, Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, who is visiting Beirut, told reporters after meeting with Nabih Berri, Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, that Lebanon is a friendly country to Iran and that there is a long historical record of relations between the two countries. 

Lebanon’s unity is important for Iran

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council said that the people of Lebanon shine in their resistance against the Zionists; Lebanese men are the heroes of the resistance front, and one of them is Martyr Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah, the former Secretary-General of Hezbollah. Larijani added that for the Islamic Republic of Iran, Lebanon’s unity, as well as its victory and success in future progress, are important.

Iran’s policy

Larijani stressed that the policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran is for regional countries to be independent and strong—unlike some countries that seek the submission of states in the region. The Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, noting that warm and sincere dialogue can lead to good decisions, added that Iran emphasizes friendly cooperation with regional countries.

Resistance does not need much guidance

Larijani, speaking about the purpose of his visit to Lebanon at a time when the issue of disarming Hezbollah has been raised, said: The Islamic Revolution of Iran was one of the greatest popular revolutions and has never regarded its friends as tools. Iran’s strength comes from the national solidarity that exists in the country, and its power stems from a deep popular revolution.

Countries outside Lebanon should not dictate to Lebanon

Larijani stressed that extra-regional countries should not dictate to Lebanon. The people of Lebanon are mature and capable of making their own decisions. He said that any decision the Lebanese government makes in consultation with the Resistance will be respected by the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Iran has brought no plan for Lebanon

The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, stating that every country has the right to decide its own future, said: Iran has not brought any plan for Lebanon, but the Americans have brought a plan—while it is the people of Lebanon who should decide for their country. He added: Do not confuse friend with foe. Resistance is the national asset of Lebanon and of all Islamic countries, and the enemies want to use propaganda to switch the roles of friend and foe.
