President of Iran: Iran's defense doctrine is rejection of nuclear weapons

Pars Today – The President of Iran stated: "The Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its ideological principles and defense doctrine, has never sought, does not seek, and will never seek to develop nuclear weapons."
In a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin, the President of Russia, Masoud Pezeshkian, the President of Iran, expressed appreciation for the Russian government's positions regarding the Islamic Republic of Iran's right to enrichment. He added that, in addition to bilateral engagements with Russia, Iran regards regional and international organizations such as the Eurasian Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and BRICS as favorable platforms for cooperation with member countries, particularly Russia and China, to effectively counter unilateralism.
Pezeshkian also referred to his recent trip to Armenia and emphasized: "During this visit, the Prime Minister of Armenia assured me that Iran's considerations, as well as those of Russia, have been fully taken into account in Armenia's recent dialogues and agreements with the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States. Given this, the 3+3 dialogue format, with the participation of Iran and Russia, will be a more effective and efficient mechanism for resolving issues in the Caucasus region."
According to a report by Pars Today, citing the official website of the Iranian Presidency, Vladimir Putin also outlined the key points and outcomes of his recent talks with the U.S. President in Alaska, stating: "The discussions at this meeting were entirely focused on the issue of Ukraine."
The Russian President went on to describe Moscow-Tehran relations as constructive and consistently improving, adding: "Bilateral trade between the two countries grew by 11% in the first half of this year, and cooperation in other areas, including the construction of the strategically important Rasht-Astara railway, is progressing."
Putin stated that cooperation between the two countries in the field of the Bushehr nuclear power plant is also progressing satisfactorily, emphasizing: "All technical collaborations are proceeding within the scheduled timeframe, and the transfer of new fuel for this power plant is currently underway."
The Russian President stressed that, from Russia's perspective, the Islamic Republic of Iran's entitlement to uranium enrichment is key and non-negotiable. He expressed hope that negotiations regarding UN Security Council Resolution 2231 would also reach a favorable outcome.
