Pars Today – Following an attack by anti-Iranian elements on the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in London, the British ambassador was summoned to Iran’s Foreign Ministry.

In response to the assault on the Iranian embassy in London, the desecration of the Iranian flag, and the interventionist remarks of the UK Foreign Secretary, Alireza Yousefi, Assistant Minister and Director General for Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, summoned Hugo Shorter, the British ambassador in Tehran, to convey Iran’s strong protest.

According to Pars Today, the Director General for Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the evident negligence of the British police in providing security and addressing law-breaking elements, emphasizing that the UK government bears full responsibility for the safety of the Iranian embassy, its diplomats, staff, and diplomatic premises in the country.

Yousefi also strongly protested the continued presence and activities of certain organizations that, under the guise of media outlets, spread false information and promote violence and terrorism against the Iranian people.

The Director General for Western Europe at Iran’s Foreign Ministry, recalling the UK government’s legal and international obligations to combat the organization and financing of terrorism and to refrain from supporting any terrorist activities, emphasized the need for decisive action by the relevant authorities in Britain to halt the operations of media outlets that promote and support terrorism.

The British ambassador in Tehran, while expressing regret over the attack on the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, assured that he would report the matter to London as soon as possible.
