Iran’s South Khorasan exports surge 81% in weight
Pars Today – Exports of goods produced in Iran’s South Khorasan Province in the northeast of the country have increased by 81 percent in weight over the past two months compared to the same period last year.
According to Pars Today, citing the IRIB News Agency, Mohammad Kouhgard, Director General of Customs in South Khorasan, said that since the beginning of the Iranian year 1405, a total of 525,020 tons of locally produced goods worth $94.424 million have been exported through the customs offices of Birjand, Mahirud, and the border market customs of Mahirud.
He added that this represents a 51 percent increase in value and an 81 percent increase in weight compared to the same period last year.
Kouhgard identified the main exported goods as iron ingots, cement, vegetables, hydrocarbons, various plastic sheet products, bitumen, and eggs.
He noted that these products were mainly exported to Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Turkmenistan.
