Pars Today – The head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) World Service highlighted the strong sense of responsibility demonstrated by Martyr Hossam Zaidan, a former correspondent for Al-Alam TV in Syria, stating that he never hesitated to be present at the scene of incidents and crises.

According to Pars Today, Ahmad Norouzi, said during a memorial ceremony for Martyr Zaidan:

“During the 2023 earthquake and the developments in Syria in 2024, Martyr Zaidan pursued his journalistic duties with dedication until his very last moments.”

Norouzi added that Zaidan had previously been seriously wounded during one of his assignments and had attained the status of a veteran before his martyrdom.

Referring to the Leader’s emphasis on honoring the families of martyrs, he said that within the IRIB, efforts are underway to follow up on the issues and needs of this martyr’s family. He added that honoring martyrs is not limited to after their death; Martyr Zaidan was also honored during the first edition of the “Sobh Festival,” where he received the award for Best News Narrative.

Norouzi described the martyrdom of this journalist of the resistance media front as a major responsibility for media professionals, stating that the enemy today acknowledges the influence of the media of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the role of media practitioners in the field of soft warfare. This, he said, further doubles the importance of continuing the path of media martyrs.
