Details announced for farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies of martyred mujahid Leader

Pars Today – Details of the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies for the Martyred Mujahid Imam, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, have been announced.

According to IRIB News Agency, citing an official statement issued on Saturday by the Headquarters for the Commemoration of the Ascension of the Mujahid Martyr Imam, following the ascension of the highest religious authority of the Shia world, the wise Leader of the Islamic Revolution, and the standard-bearer of the Front of Truth and Resistance, the Martyred Mujahid Imam, Grand Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Hosseini Khamenei, the Islamic world is mourning the loss of a great man who devoted his entire blessed life to upholding the cause of truth, defending Islam, serving the people, and guiding the Muslim Ummah.

The statement added that the martyred Leader, through his unwavering faith, sincere struggle, steadfast patience, and divine insight, consistently upheld the banner of Iran’s independence and the guidance and dignity of the Islamic nation. The name and memory of this unparalleled figure, it said, will remain forever etched in the history of beloved Iran, the Islamic world, and the hearts of freedom-seekers across the globe.

The Headquarters for Commemorating the Ascension of the Martyred Mujahid Imam, extends its condolences to Imam Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance), to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei, and to all free and truth-seeking nations. The headquarters also expresses its profound gratitude and appreciation for the passionate and loyal participation of the devoted people of the Islamic Republic of Iran and all those who remain committed to the cause of Islam and the Islamic Revolution.

Further to the previous announcements issued by the headquarters and in accordance with the arrangements that have been made, the public is hereby informed that the farewell, funeral procession, and burial ceremonies for the pure body of the Martyred Mujahid Imam, as well as members of his family— the esteemed martyrs Mesbah al-Hoda Baqeri Kani, Seyyedeh Boshra Hosseini Khamenei, Zahra Haddad Adel, and Zahra Mohammadi Golpayegani—will be held as follows:

• Saturday, July 4, and Sunday, July 5, 2026 (corresponding to the 19th and 20th of Muharram): Farewell ceremony with the blessed body at Imam Khomeini Mosalla in Tehran.
• Monday, July 6, 2026 (corresponding to the 21st of Muharram): Funeral procession ceremony in Tehran. 
• Tuesday, July 7, 2026 (corresponding to the 22nd of Muharram): Funeral procession ceremony in the holy city of Qom.
• Thursday, July 9, 2026 (corresponding to the 24th of Muharram and the eve of the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Sajjad (PBUH)): Funeral procession ceremony in Mashhad, followed by burial at the sacred shrine of Imam Reza (peace be upon him).
