Pars Today – Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, who is on an official visit to Iraq, said that Karbala serves as a hub of solidarity and friendship between the peoples of Iraq and Iran.
According to IRNA, Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran's Foreign Ministry, wrote in a post on X:
"After a busy day in Baghdad, we have now arrived in the holy city of Karbala, the home and resting place of the Master of the World's Free People, Imam Hussein (PBUH), whose message continues to resonate with the conscience of humanity for all time: 'If you have no religion and do not fear the Hereafter, then at least be free in your worldly life.'"
He added: "Karbala is a center of solidarity and affection between the Iraqi and Iranian peoples. The generosity of the Iraqi people—from religious scholars and tribal leaders to all segments of society—in welcoming the pilgrims of Imam Hussein is unparalleled. Soon, by receiving the body of the martyred Leader of Iran's Revolution, they will once again create remarkable scenes of appreciation and dignity. These moments will reflect the profound bond between the two nations and stand as a lasting testament to their loyalty and brotherhood."
