Qalibaf: Strengthening Iran–China strategic relations is essential
Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament emphasized the necessity of expanding strategic, political, and parliamentary ties between Tehran and Beijing.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News, Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf met with He Wei, Deputy of the National People’s Congress of China, and stressed that recent regional conditions following the recent war and new developments make closer coordination between Iran and China more necessary than ever. He added that the Islamic Republic of Iran will not allow any U.S. interference in the Strait of Hormuz.
In a separate meeting with Igor Sergeyenko, Speaker of the House of Representatives of Belarus, Qalibaf expressed appreciation for Belarus’s stance in supporting Iran against the aggression of the Israeli regime and the United States. He said the U.S. and Israel failed to achieve any of their objectives in the Ramadan war, and that today it is widely accepted that military action against Iran has failed.
In another meeting with Humet Hojalyyev (representing Turkmenistan), Qalibaf thanked the Turkmen delegation for attending the funeral ceremony of the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution and called for expanding economic, transit, energy, and border cooperation between Tehran and Ashgabat, as well as removing bureaucratic barriers and strengthening strategic relations.
He also met with Muhammad al-Halbousi, Speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, who traveled to Tehran to attend the funeral ceremony, where both sides emphasized deep ties between the two nations and discussed expanding security, economic, and transit cooperation between Tehran and Baghdad.
