Iravani: United States is aggressor not victim

Pars Today – Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations has rejected fabricated U.S. allegations at the Security Council, stressing that Washington is the aggressor, not the victim, and has no legal, political, or moral standing to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Amir Saeid Iravani, Iran’s ambassador to the United Nations, wrote in a letter addressed to the UN secretary-general and the president of the Security Council on Tuesday that allegations of Iranian arms transfers to Yemen in violation of relevant Security Council resolutions are false and baseless.
Iravani stated that the accusations are not supported by any credible, verifiable, or independent evidence and constitute yet another attempt to divert attention from the United States’ unlawful conduct and destabilizing actions in the region.
The Iranian ambassador further emphasized that the allegations were fabricated with the aim of misleading the Security Council and shifting attention away from the grave crimes committed by the United States against the Iranian people.
He added that the United States bears primary responsibility for undermining peace and security in Yemen and the wider region. Washington’s military actions against Yemen have effectively derailed the implementation of the April 2022 ceasefire agreement and brought the UN-facilitated political process to a standstill.
Iravani further stressed that the United States is the aggressor, not the victim.
Iravani further stressed that the United States is the aggressor, not the victim. He said that, by launching two wars of aggression against Iran alongside the Israeli regime, the United States has committed flagrant violations of the United Nations Charter—particularly Article 2, Paragraph 4—as well as international law and international humanitarian law.
He said that the United States has not only failed to put an end to its unlawful actions, but has also continued its war of aggression against Iran in recent days through repeated military strikes—attacks that have seriously jeopardized international peace and security and undermined months of diplomatic and mediation efforts aimed at ending the war and restoring stability to the region.
The Iranian ambassador added that, moreover, the United States, through its overt interference in the implementation of Iran’s necessary arrangements concerning the Strait of Hormuz, has caused insecurity to return to the strategic waterway and disrupted international commercial shipping.
