Pars Today — The head of Iran’s Basij Organization said that Iranians with diverse views and different ways of life are standing against hegemonic powers today through popular resistance bases.
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB, Hojatoleslam Hossein Taeb, head of Iran’s Basij Organization, speaking on Saturday at the Fourth National Ceremony Honoring Active Mosque Participants, said: “A mosque is not merely a place of worship; it is also a base for the Iranian nation’s cultural, social and even military resistance.”
According to him, the strategies of the martyred Imam and the Leader of the Islamic Revolution have transformed mosques into centers of resistance against hegemonic powers. This, he said, has enabled the Iranian people and freedom-seeking people around the world to clearly see the possibility of resisting and defeating the enemy.
Taeb stressed: “Today, popular participation can be seen both in mosques and in the social and political arenas. People with diverse views and different ways of life have stood against hegemonic powers and demonstrated this resistance.”
Referring to the recent war and the enemy’s conduct, he said: “The brutal enemy entered the war against Iran using all its military and propaganda capabilities. But when it saw that the Iranian nation would not back down, it was forced to request a ceasefire and then negotiations. However, it subsequently violated even the terms of that very agreement.”
The head of Iran’s Basij Organization, referring to the capabilities of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s armed forces, said: “The powerful operations carried out by Iran’s armed forces exposed the weaknesses of the US military before the eyes of the world—a military with an enormous budget and access to extensive intelligence and operational capabilities that believed it could defeat Iran in a short period of time.”
He added: “The Iranian nation and its armed forces did not weaken during the recent war. Rather, it was the enemy that was forced to retreat, agree to a ceasefire and enter negotiations.”
