Eid al-Fitr in Iran on Monday
The Office of the Leader of Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Khamenei, confirmed Monday as the First Day of the lunar month of Shawwal and subsequently Eid al-Fitr, after sighting of the crescent following completion of full 30 days of the fasting month of Ramadhan.
Accordingly, the Eid al-Fitr Prayer at Tehran’s sprawling Imam Khomeini Mosalla will be led by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution at 8:00 am.
Millions attend the Eid al-Fitr Prayer at the Imam Khomeini Mosalla, and listen attentively to the traditional two sermons Ayatollah Khamenei delivers, in which he focuses on important religious, economic, cultural, and political issues.
Every year the Islamic Republic of Iran observes a 2-day public holiday on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Muslims all over the globe celebrate Eid al-Fitr after the end of Ramadhan.
