Iran's Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani underlined that terrorist groups, specially the Daesh, have come to the end of the road in Iraq and Syria.
"Today, we can say that the terrorists are taking their last breaths in Iraq and Syria which is a major achievement," Larijani told reporters in Tehran on Tuesday before heading for Turkey to participate in the Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting.
He underlined Iran's pioneering role in the fight against terrorism, and said, "The terrorist group of Daesh has almost vanished from the scene of Iraq and Syria and today is a big day for the Iranian nation which has managed to score a vital achievement through resistance and establish security and stability in the entire world."
In relevant remarks in September, Commander of the Quds Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Qassem Soleimani underlined that the Daesh terrorist group is taking its last breaths and will vanish in less than 3 months.
“In less than three months, we will declare the end of Daesh and its ruling on this planet and we will celebrate this victory in Iran and the entire region,” General Soleimani said, addressing a ceremony in Iran's northern province of Gilan.
