Iran and India agreed to begin religious and cultural negotiations on Sunday.
The decision was made in Tehran during a meeting between Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization Abouzar Ebrahimi Torkaman and General Director of Indian Council for Cultural Relations Raja Cikar.
Torkaman said the two sides have signed cultural agreements, and now is the time to implement them in order to enhance cooperation in culture and religion.
For his part, and on Indian PM's special view on cultural issues, Cikar said cultural relations between Iran and India are very rich and deep-seated.
On holding Indian cultural events in Iran, Cikar said plans have been made to hold traditional music concerts and a festival to praise Iran-India relations.
In relevant remarks, Iran's Culture Minister Ali Jannati said last week that Tehran is scheduled to host a seminar to help expand Iran-India cultural ties.
In a meeting with Indian Ambassador in Tehran Saurabh Kumar, Jannati said post-sanction Iran is now more than ever ready to enhance bilateral cooperation with India in all spheres, including culture.
