Pars Today – The Secretary-General of Hezbollah said in a speech marking Ashura that "we defeated the Israeli-American plan."
According to Pars Today, citing IRIB News Agency, Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary-General of Hezbollah, said during his Ashura address:
"This Ashura scene symbolizes a history of sacrifice, selflessness, and eternal perseverance. It represents a genuine and revolutionary mobilization that changes the balance of power and brings down tyrants."
He added:
"This year, despite displacement, suffering, loss, and hardship, we witnessed the most magnificent Ashura ceremonies and an overwhelming public turnout. The trust left to us by the martyrs, the wounded, and the prisoners rests on our shoulders, and we will safeguard everything for which they sacrificed."
"We Defeated the Israeli-American Plan"
Sheikh Naim Qassem added:
"The light of Karbala is spreading, and freedom is on its way. We faced a war whose objective was to eliminate Hezbollah, its supporters, and the citizens associated with it in Lebanon. As part of the 'Greater Israel' plan, Israel seeks to occupy Lebanon, while the resistance emerged in response to aggression and occupation."
He continued:
"The joint Israeli-American aggression by land, sea, and air against civilians was a major war aimed at eliminating us. However, through the steadfastness of the Lebanese people, this aggression was halted and a significant achievement was realized. We defeated the Israeli-American plan and have entered a new phase."
Iran-U.S. understanding should be used to support Lebanon's sovereignty
The Hezbollah Secretary-General also said:
"We stress the need to work toward rebuilding the country and addressing the economic situation, the issue of depositors' funds, and reconstruction. In the period following Israel's withdrawal, we will jointly examine a comprehensive national security strategy. The path opened by the understanding between Iran and the United States should be utilized as the principal means of supporting Lebanon's sovereignty."
