Pars Today - The tourism deputies of Iran and Indonesia have finalized the terms of a tourism cooperation agreement between the two countries, aiming to establish direct flights between Tehran and Jakarta.

Ali Asghar Shalbafian, the tourism deputy of Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, met with Ni Ayu Martini, the deputy minister of tourism and creative economy of Indonesia, during a promotional tour of Iran's tourism delegation to several Southeast Asian countries.

According to Pars Today, the tourism deputies of the two countries finalized the terms of the tourism cooperation agreement, paving the way for the signing of the agreement by the tourism ministers of both countries.In this meeting, organizing joint tours and events was also on the agenda of both parties.

Additionally, the effort to establish direct flights between Tehran and Jakarta was discussed as a separate issue and will be followed up through the Iranian Embassy in Indonesia.

The Indonesian deputy minister of tourism and creative economy also expressed interest in expanding cooperation in the fields of handicrafts and museum relations with Iran, which will be pursued in cooperation with relevant sections of Iran's Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts.

The Iranian tourism delegation has traveled to Southeast Asia, including Vietnam, Malaysia, and Indonesia, following the unilateral visa waiver by the Islamic Republic of Iran for 28 countries, with the aim of taking complementary measures, including organizing a roadshow to introduce Iran's tourism capacities.

Shalbafian said at the Road show in Indonesia: "Indonesian tourists can benefit from Iran's modern and efficient medical and health tourism opportunities."

The Iranian official also highlighted the value of Iranian hospitality as one of the country's cultural values, which, along with its ancient history and cultural heritage, including historical cities like Isfahan, Shiraz, and Yazd, makes Iran an attractive destination for travelers.

According to Shalbafian, the Islamic Republic of Iran, with its rich cultural and historical resources, as well as its specialized medical and health tourism opportunities, offers an attractive prospect for Indonesian tourists, particularly with the definition of Umrah Plus tours, making it a mid-point destination for Hajj pilgrims.
