Day Iranian society rallied for an important political issue
Pars Today- Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, cast his vote on Friday, July 5, in early minutes after the beginning of the presidential runoff election.
The Leader, after casting his vote in the ballot box 110, described the day of election as a good day and the day in which the people become active for an important political affair, and said, "Inshallah, our dear people will finish the job at this phase with higher resolve in the second round, participation at the ballot boxes and the best election, so that we will have our president tomorrow (Saturday)."
Ayatollah Khamenei, pointing to some reports about the increase of people's enthusiasm and zeal in this round of the presidential election, added, "If it is so, it will be satisfactory and we hope that Almighty God will make the nation successful and the country developed, and will encompass all those who have made effort in this course with His favor and mercy."
The presidential runoff election started at 8 p.m. July 5 between Masood Pezeshkian and Saeed Jalili, the two candidates who secured the most votes among the four candidates in the first round.
The 14th presidential election was held on Friday, June 28 in 59 thousand polling stations inside the country and abroad.
From 24.5 million votes cast in the first round, Pezeshkian garnered 10,451,191 votes and Jalili got 9,473,298 votes as the two first candidates to run for president in the runoff election.
