Palestinians hold funeral for man killed in Israeli raid

Mourners in the West Bank held a funeral procession on Thursday for a Palestinian martyred in an Israeli army raid.

According to Press TV, thousands marched through the streets of Ramallah, chanting slogans, while gunmen fired in the air. 

Israeli forces martyred the Palestinian man in a car they were pursuing in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, according to Palestinian paramedics. The Israeli military said troops shot a Palestinian who had fired at them from a vehicle.

The incident followed several Palestinian attacks on Zionists in recent weeks. Palestinians also complain of attacks by the illegal Zionist settlers, whose residence in the West Bank the international community considers illegal.

In a statement, the military said the soldiers had come under fire from a passing vehicle while searching for Palestinians spotted approaching the illegal settlement of Psagot.
