Gov't pardons 194 ex-militants from Homs

Scores of ex-militants were pardoned and set free in Syria
The authorities in Homs pardoned 194 militants from the city and its countryside who had earlier turned themselves in and handed over their weapons.
Homs Province Governor-General, Tallal al-Barazi, said that the individuals from al-Waer region vowed not to get involved in any actions that would affect the security of the homeland and citizens.
The settlement process was achieved in cooperation with the National Reconciliation Subcommittee in Homs Province.
In mid-August, around 140 militants in the central province of Homs laid down their arms and turned themselves in to the Syrian officials.
"140 militants from the villages of Talbiseh, al-Rastan and Hassia in Homs Province and from a number of neighborhoods in Homs city were pardoned after turning themselves in to the authorities on Wednesday," a source said.
The development came amid the terrorist groups' threats against those who surrender to the government.
