Syrian army troopers deal major blows to Takfiri terrorists

Syria's foreign-sponsored conflict, which flared in March 2011, has claimed the lives of more than 400,000 people, according to an estimate by UN Special Envoy for Syria Staffan de Mistura.
Army forces in Syria have carried out mop-up operations against foreign-sponsored Takfiri terrorists across the violence-wracked Arab country, inflicting heavy losses on them.
According to Press TV, on Thursday, government troops targeted terrorist positions and convoys in the vicinity of the strategic Sha’er gas field in Syria’s Central Province of Homs, killing scores of the extremists in the process.
They advanced to Jabal Sawwanat and the first checkpoint of the gas field, after successfully wresting control over al-Barak Hills that lie on the western outskirts of the al-Sha'er Mountains.
A military source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Syrian army forces also engaged members of the Jabhat Fateh al-Sham terrorist group, which serves as Syria’s al-Qaeda branch and was formerly known as al-Nusra Front, in Izz al-Din village and killed a large number of them.
Elsewhere in the West-Central Province of Hama, government forces successfully thwarted terrorist offensives against the villages of Taybat al-Ism and Qarah.
Dozens of Jaish al-Fatah and Daesh terrorists were also killed and injured during Syrian air force strikes against their bases throughout the province.
Syrian fighter jets pounded terrorists’ positions in the towns of Taybat al-Imam, located 18 kilometers northwest of Hama, Tel al-Zaatar and Murak, and the villages of Atshan, al-Shatha and al-Telasia.
Moreover, Syrian army units dealt heavy blows to Takfiri terrorists seeking to infiltrate into a number of points at Handarat camp north of Aleppo, and killed scores of the extremists.
Additionally, government soldiers targeted a gathering of terrorists and their vehicles in Tisia town of the Southwestern Province of Dara’a, leaving several Takfiris dead.
