Intensified shelling attacks by terrorists kill 40 in Syria's Aleppo

At least 40 people were killed and 250 others wounded over the past 48 hours by intensified shelling attacks by terrorists on government-controlled areas in the country's northern city of Aleppo.

Fourteen children and five women were among those killed by the intense shelling, which was coupled by an offensive by militants on the government forces positions in Aleppo, Xinhua reported.

The militants, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, started their offensive on Friday from southwestern Aleppo with the aim of breaking the siege imposed by the Syrian army on militant-held areas in eastern Aleppo.

The militants and terrorist groups, infiltrated the Assad Suburb area in western Aleppo, engaging with the Syrian army in intense battles, deemed as the most violent since the beginning of conflict in Aleppo.

Observers believe that Aleppo is going to be the decisive battle ground among the fighting groups, and the winner will be the one dictating its conditions to resolve the crisis, as the province contain almost all the militant groups that are supported by regional and foreign powers, with the civilians paying the price for their attacks.
