World with no trade winner; Trump harbinger of economic recession
Pars Today - The British prime minister, criticizing imposition of heavy tariffs by the US on imports from various countries, said that nobody will be the winner of a trade war.
The US president announced the "basic" global %10 tariff for all imports to the US on April 2 (Liberation Day). Donald Trump also unveiled a %10 tariff on the British and %20 tariff on the EU imports in a special historical juncture for global trade. Accordingly, the United States will target some countries with much harsher tariffs up to %50. According to Pars Today, quoting from Mehr news agency, British Prime Minister, Keir Starmer said on Sunday in reaction to Trump's heavy tariffs on imports, "Nobody will be the winner of a trade war and the world that we used to know has come to an end. Now, we are ready for an unknown future." He warned that the repercussions of customs tariffs can be very tough for Britain and the world and that all options are on the table to confront this crisis.
Trump harbinger of economic recession
Meanwhile, British daily "Guardian" called the US president's tariff policies as the cause of spread of recession in the US and increase of poverty in the world. Guardian wrote on Saturday that the day which trump calls as "Liberation Day" for economy will be the day of recession in the US and pain for the people of the world.

On the other hand, Maxwell Frost, Democratic Representative from Florida, said on Saturday, "Despots throughout history have never been content with the power they have. They violate the law and then wait for people's reaction; are people silent or they cry out?"
Venezuela overcomes Trump's trade war
According to Mehr news agency report on Sunday, the Venezuelan President, Nicholas Maduro, said about the customs tariffs imposed on his country by Trump, "Caracas will overcome the problems of trade and economic war which the US President, Donald Trump, has announced against the world."
US violating WTO rules
Lin Jian, Spokesman of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, said on Saturday, in reaction to the reciprocal tariffs announced by the US, "The US, with the pretext of setting up reciprocal conduct, has increased import tariffs from many countries, including China." He added, "This move severely violates the rules of the World Trade Organization and undermines the multilateral trade system based on regulations. China is strongly opposed to this move and, to defend its legitimate rights and interests, will take every necessary measure."
