India rejects Trump's claim on ceasefire with Pakistan
Pars Today- India rejected the claim of US President, Donald Trump, about meditation between New Delhi and Islamabad.
Escalation of tension between India and Pakistan resulted in military clashes between the two countries. Islamabad and New Delhi announced on Saturday that they have reached mutual understanding over immediate execution of complete ceasefire and stopping military actions. According to Pars Today, quoting from IRNA, the Indian foreign ministry on Wednesday called as baseless President Donald Trump's claim on Washington's mediation between India and Pakistan and prevention of nuclear war through trade pressure.
The Indian foreign ministry repudiated Trump's claim of threatening to halt trade with New Delhi and Islamabad to force the two countries to accept ceasefire.
The Indian diplomatic apparatus also announced that the country's old national stance is based on settlement of any issue related to the union of Jammu and Kashmir merely bilaterally between Islamabad and New Delhi.
Daily Times of India, also, stressed in a report that Trump has not been a mediator for India-Pakistan ceasefire.
Armed forces on April 22 opened fire towards a group of tourists in Pahalgam region, located nearly 90km away Srinagar city of Indian-administered Kashmir, and killed at least 26. Indian officials described the event as a terrorist attack and claimed that Pakistan was involved in it. Pakistan, however, rejected the allegation.
