Pars Today – The Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran said the Troika’s attempts to revive UN Security Council resolutions have no credibility.
According to Pars Today, citing IRNA, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, the Foreign Minister of the Islamic Republic of Iran, wrote in a letter on Friday to Kaja Kallas, the European Union’s foreign policy chief and coordinator of the JCPOA Joint Commission:
The Troika’s possible attempts to revive United Nations Security Council resolutions that were annulled under Resolution 2231 (2015) are invalid and ineffective, and this resolution must expire on schedule, on October 18, 2025.
He called on the European Union to refrain from selective interpretations and to work toward facilitating genuine diplomacy and preserving multilateralism.
Meanwhile, in a letter to the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General, Araghchi addressed the Troika’s misinterpretation of the JCPOA’s dispute settlement mechanism and issues related to Resolution 2231, stating:
“We call on all members of the Security Council to reject improper political manipulation and to safeguard the integrity of international law and the authority of the Security Council. The way forward lies in mutual respect, not coercion.”
