Pakistan: Afghanistan must eliminate Islamabad opponents / Iran: Tehran ready to mediate

Pars Today — Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that Afghanistan must eliminate armed opponents of Islamabad who are operating on its soil.

According to Pars Today, Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement: “Our demand of Afghanistan remains in place — Kabul must eliminate armed opponents of Islamabad who are on its soil.” The ministry added that Pakistan continues to welcome talks with Afghanistan and seeks to resolve issues through negotiation, but it insists that the first step must be Kabul’s agreement to take action against armed groups present on its territory who oppose Pakistan.
Tehran ready to mediate between Kabul and Islamabad
On Monday, Esmaeil Baqaei, spokesperson for Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed concern over border tensions in the country’s eastern region and announced Tehran’s readiness to mediate between Kabul and Islamabad to help reduce the tensions. Baqaei stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is concerned about any unrest along its eastern borders, not only because of shared borders, but also due to deep historical, cultural, and religious ties with the two Muslim countries, Afghanistan and Pakistan.
He emphasized that insecurity in this region could undermine stability across the entire area and added that, since the onset of tensions, Iran has called on all parties to exercise restraint and has expressed its readiness to assist in resolving the disputes.
Expansion of military cooperation Between Pakistan and Bangladesh
Meanwhile, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Commander of the Pakistan Navy, led a high-level military delegation to Bangladesh to meet with the country’s military officials and explore ways to expand cooperation and professional interactions between the navies of the two countries. During these meetings, both sides discussed strengthening defense collaboration, enhancing the military capabilities of their forces, and expanding bilateral interactions through joint military training, seminars, and reciprocal visits.
India–Russia cooperation on nuclear power plant projects
Russian state company Rosatom announced that Russia and India will develop new projects for both large and small nuclear power plants and cooperate in the field of nuclear fuel. During a meeting on Monday in Mumbai, the Director General of Rosatom and the Director General of India’s Atomic Energy Commission emphasized expanding their partnership, including the development of nuclear power plant projects and collaboration on nuclear fuel, with particular attention to opportunities for domestic production of equipment.
