  • A look at expansion of world students' support for Palestine

Pars Today- The biggest pro-Palestinian student activists' network was set up in New York. Global Students For Support Palestine Network (GSPN) is composed of hundreds of student teams from various universities in the world including Americas, Europe, Africa and a number of Islamic and Arab countries.

Although student movements have a long record in freedom-seeking all over the world, these strong bonds in support for the cause of Palestine have been shaped after the unprecedented crimes of the Zionist regime in Gaza during the recent months. According to Pars Today, the all-out American support for the Israeli crimes in Gaza has caused the formation of resistance units and student protests in world universities against the policies of the Biden administration and in condemnation of the crimes of the fabricated Zionist regime.

Expert of political issues, Ali Sharifinia, says on this, "Student protests in condemnation of the American support for the Israeli crimes in Gaza have been shaped in different universities in the world, but they are more conspicuous in the US so that they have caused the Biden administration to face with serious challenges. This showed that the new generation in the US and European countries does not tolerate the oppressive policies of the West, especially Washington, against the innocent people of Palestine."

Regarding the continuous crimes of Zionists in Gaza and the constant support of the West, particularly the US, student activists, establishments and unions have informed of the foundation of Global Students For Support Palestine Network (GSPN) in a bid to accompany the growing international movement in support for Palestine and stop the genocide of the Zionist regime against the people of Gaza, and also try to divest this regime in universities.

GSPN is in fact trying to link student protests throughout the world and bolster it against Zionism. This movement announced in a statement, on the occasion of starting its activity, that it will provide a safe ground for exchanging strategies, sharing experiences and enhancement of global cooperation against the fake Zionist regime to be as a vital source for backing the student activists who support Palestine across the world.

The statement also reads that GSPN will seek to equip those students supporting Palestine who are in remote communities or are isolated and provide them with the logistics and knowledge needed to implement effective strategies against the Zionist regime.

The leaders of students in this network have clearly announced that they are committed to strengthen the voice of the Palestinians in the world, to draw the global attention to the Palestinian resistance and coordinate the protests and justice-seeking mechanisms while setting up a global network of student activists to achieve the four basic objectives of "defense", "education", "work" and "unity".

This students network has called on universities all over the world to confront the measures of the usurper Israeli regime, support the students' right to protest and terminate cooperation with the educational and research institutes of the fake Israeli regime.

The protests of students during the recent months against the Zionist regime clearly showed that they are among the most effective protest campaigns which can affect even the American government's policies. Thus, GSPN has called on all student activists to join the network so that, in this juncture in history, they form an important part of the global justice-seeking movement and solidarity with the people of Palestine.

No doubt, the more this network is active, the more it can be effective in stopping the Zionist regime's crimes in Gaza.
