This program as we have said in the last episodes, focuses on the challenging issue of generation gap in today’s families. In this program we mention the ways to deal with the issue.

Generation gap has become a major challenge for families nowadays. Thanks to access to modern technology and equipment, the lifestyle has changed dramatically, pushing the previous into a wide gap. The ways of communication have caused youths to forget about their father’s traditions and customs and so to have challenged family members. But the fact is there is no way out; the technology is there and you have to flow with that stream. However youth should not be drowned in that stream which is not clear where it is heading to.

Wanted or unwanted, sometimes parents ignore their difference with their children who are living in a very different era than their own. They sometimes try to face their children to look at them as exemplar so that make a life like their own for their children. This is while any generation has its own style of living; however the elder’s experiences and guidelines shouldn’t be ignored. If new generation be deprived of the previous generations’ mental and practical support, they lead to what o call the Neverland.

The elders should accept that these are the youth who make the society and the growth of the society is linked with the dynamism of the youth of that society. They should take into consideration the fact that their experiences are valuable as far as they are transferred to the youths. Forgetting such a phenomena, parents should react with showing flexibility and using a logical understanding.

Generation gap becomes a threatening phenomenon when this gap breaks away and by that values, norms and traditions are forgotten. Families should understand the social conditions and while human and canonical values are kept, they give their children the permission to be active in the society and go on with the modern world.

It is also recommended that parents stay updated about technology and developments of the day so that they can help their children in this way and to some extent supervise them. Parents’ familiarization with technological developments help them understand the current generation better and so avoid difference.
