Iranian MPs: Name ‘Persian Gulf’ is historically established

Pars Today - Members of the Iranian Parliament (Majlis), supporting the enduring name of the ‘Persian Gulf’, declared in a statement on Sunday that the name is historically established in world history.

Addressing US President Donald Trump, the lawmakers stated that the Persian Gulf and its geopolitical position are divinely ordained, not acquired through conquest or invasion. They emphasized that Iran’s location, particularly its access to the Persian Gulf, is a strategically significant crossroads of the world, a position earned through no power other than God. They added that the Persian name is not due to bribery, coercion, or influence, but rather its historical and established usage./ IRIB news agency
