Pakistan warns UNSC about humanitarian disaster in Gaza
Pars Today – At a UN Security Council meeting, Pakistan’s envoy warned that Gaza is facing an unprecedented humanitarian disaster and humanitarian aid is being weaponized in the ongoing conflict.
Pakistan’s Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Asim Iftikhar stated during the Security Council session: “The bombardment and systematic destruction of infrastructure in Gaza have left thousands martyred and injured, and cities reduced to rubble.”
He added: “Hospitals are barely functioning, starvation has become a weapon of war, and aid delivery has become a deadly mission.” He stressed that the only path to lasting peace in the region is the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital. “The world cannot remain a passive observer to the daily deaths and crimes in Gaza,” he warned, adding that history will judge those who remain silent.
