Pars Today – The First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran on Monday emphasized the need to deepen and expand relations between Tehran and Yerevan in various fields, stating that Armenia holds a special place in the Islamic Republic of Iran’s “Neighborhood Policy”, and that the relations between the two countries are built on strong and unbreakable historical, cultural, and civilizational foundations.

Mohammad Reza Aref, speaking on the sidelines of the Third Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries, met with Vahagn Khachaturyan, the President of Armenia. He stated that fortunately, in recent years, the deep historical and cultural ties have led to a dynamic and growing trend in the bilateral relations in political, economic, and cultural areas.

He added: "Consultations between Iranian and Armenian officials are at a satisfactory and favorable level, and we welcome the continued consultations between the two countries’ officials."

The First Vice President of Iran, referring to his visit to Armenia and participation in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) Summit, as well as bilateral consultations, stated: "Valuable agreements and actions have been initiated in line with the two countries’ mutual interests in various fields, and these must be deepened step by step."
