Iran protests U.S. restrictions on its diplomats in New York

Pars Today – Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei voiced strong objection to the restrictions imposed on Iranian diplomats in New York.

Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said early Wednesday on X  that the true objective of Washington’s growing restrictions on Iranian diplomats and their families in New York is to obstruct Iran’s diplomatic activities at the United Nations.

He said that the systematic harassment of Iranian diplomats by the U.S. administration had, just within the past week, prevented Iran’s participation in several international meetings held outside the movement zone imposed by Washington.

He added that these petty restrictions on mobility and even routine shopping for Iranian diplomats not only represent a blatant violation of U.S. obligations under the UN Headquarters Agreement, but also expose a new level of hostility by the American ruling establishment toward Iranians. / IRNA
