Lebanese President: The world must pressure Israel

Pars Today — The President of Lebanon has called for pressure on Israel to stop its aggression against the country.

President Joseph Aoun stated that the international community must pressure Israel to compel it to halt its attacks on Lebanon. He added that the international community, particularly the European Union, should pressure Tel Aviv to adhere to the terms of the ceasefire agreement.

During a meeting with the EU Special Representative, Aoun emphasized that Lebanon welcomes any support from the EU, especially following the withdrawal of UNIFIL forces in 2027.

The Lebanese president also reiterated his position on the monopoly of arms in Lebanon, stating: “The government and I stand where the interests of the nation and all its people demand.” He affirmed that the Lebanese government is committed to being solely responsible for the security of its borders and all its territory./Mehr
