Pars Today- Iran's motivated and untiring researchers and elites, in the past year (ended on March 19, 2024), made great progresses in technological and scientific domains despite West's cruel sanctions and innumerable vicissitudes in the way. Most of these technologies and progresses used to be highly costly in terms of imported currency and hard-to-achieve due to illegally imposed sanctions.

The following is a report on a number of the achievements of Iranian researchers and elites in the Iranian calendar year 1402 (March 21, 2023- March 19, 2024).

Thrush Vaccine

In April, 2023, the production line of "Contagious Octima Thrush Vaccine" was unveiled in a knowledge-based company in the presence of the president's scientific deputy.

 

Researchers of this company, indigenizing and producing thrush (Candidiasis) vaccine, helped reduce the intensity of infected animals and infection of others.

Thrush (Candidiasis) is one of the most harmful livestock disease which can cause irreparable losses in the livestock industry.

Micro-fluid chip for separation of circulating Tumour cells (TCT)

Last year, the researchers of Mo'tamed Cancer Research Center succeeded in designing and making micro-fluid chips based on presentation of MPA-Chip.

 

The purity and efficiency of cancerous cells separation has increased in this kit in comparison with similar foreign samples and the effect of mechanical tensions on trapped cells has decreased to minimum.

Cryogenic technology

Another technology that the Iranian scientists achieved in last year was "Cryogenic technology".

Cryogenic technology means production, storage and transportation of materials at ultra-cold temperatures up to minus 196 degrees centigrade. Different gases, with different densities, are placed in different levels and become capable of different applications.

 

Currently, only 5 countries possess this technology.

Making of 4 widely-used knowledge-based medical products/ Tourniquet to orthodontic wire

"Angiography Tourniquet" (a band for tying wrist after angiographic surgery), "Biopsy forceps" (a tool used for sampling in endoscopic surgeries and colonoscopy), "Ligation clips" (for tying blood vessels after laparoscopic surgeries) and "orthodontic wires" are considered four widely-used and advanced medical products which were indigenized in an Iranian knowledge-based company.

 

The production of these advanced products medical tools in Iran prevent the exit of at least $6 million per year.

Ship Engine Room Simulator

'Ship Engine Room Simulator' was another product which was designed and manufactured in an Iranian knowledge-based company last year.

This product is capable of simulating different kinds of ship propelling systems and auxiliary machinery related to diesel engines, gas turbines, steam turbines and electric engines.

 

Indigenizing of this simulator has made it possible to teach, trouble-shoot and exercise under all headings of ship mechanics, ship electronics, operation management in emergency cases and various kinds of fire in powerhouse and various scenarios of extinguishing.

Insulin primary substance production

In September 2023, the production line of insulin primary substance was inaugurated and exploited in Iran.

This production line enhanced Iran's might because, for the recent years due to sanctions and shortage of insulin in the country, the Islamic Republic had faced problems.

 

Insulin used to be imported from India and European countries and Iran could just package and fill medical vials.

Vacuum Blood Transfusion Tube

"Vacuum Blood Transfusion" tubes were another important medical tool which were produced by Iranian scientists in 2023.

"Vacuum Blood Transfusion" tubes are among the most important tools for sampling liquids and blood transfusion which facilitate and accelerate blood transfusion due to their specifications.

 

The production line of this product, which was opened in October 2023 with a capacity of 60 million products per year, for the first time in West Asia, has used the technology of coating of chemical substances in tubes from the nozzles based on ultrasonic waves, a unique technology which is totally indigenous and compliant with modern technologies in the world.

Five technological and smart achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran's Police

"Smart Inquiry of Vehicle Authenticity, Ownership and Record", "Integrated Command Dashboard" (with the aim of providing services, reception of updated and online reports of crimes according to geographical and time location), "Data Marking Site" (for preservation and tracing of data), "Traffic Management System in Police Command Organizational Networks" (for exact estimation and appropriation of band width of Police Command organizational networks, traffic management of data and users), "Comprehensive System of Cultural and Social Deputy" (with the approach to provide social, cultural, advisory and social assistance services and recording of results, smart traffic control site of variables with a capability of exploiting sites inside and outside the organization and system of native content management) were among the products unveiled in an Iranian knowledge-based company in 2023 for the General Command of the Police Force of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Anti-cancer medicine

Another important breakthrough of Iran's scientists in 2023, was to indigenize anti-cancer medicine "Cyclophosphamide". It is a medicine whose compound with other chemotherapy medicines, is used for treatment of different cancers such as blood, ovary, breast, eye and so on.

 

This medicine was among the sanctioned items and cost approximately $5 million annually to import it.

Production of 16- slice CT-Scan

 In early December, 2023, the production line of CT-Scan apparatus and export line of ventilator were inaugurated in Khorasan Razavi Province.

 

The price of the imported CT-Scan apparatus was 220 thousand Euros. Thus, indigenizing of the equipment will be economical up to 30 thousand Euros for each apparatus.

Electric Arc Furnace Transformer

Another achievement gained by the Iranian researchers in 2023 was to manufacture Electric Arc Furnace Transformer.

 

Electric Arc Furnace is used to melt metallic substances. It is one of the most important and valuable tools in iron and steel melting industries and it has a lot of usages for melting of iron and non-iron scraps due to the features like creation of very high temperature and high production price.

It was very hard to import this product for the recent years owing to the imposition of illegal sanctions on Iran.

Nano-Bubble Water Refinery System

Indigenization of this system in Iran has enabled the country to secure high-quality drinking water for every region facing the problem of smelly water.

 

This project has resulted in increasing efficiency of omission of algae and compounds generating bad smell and taste, improvement of water quality, omission of processes for chlorine and active charcoal injection in the entrance of refineries, notable decrease of exploitation expenses and reduction of ozone gas consumption up to 60%.
