PARS TODAY – Iran's minister of Health and Medical Education, Bahram Einollahi, has said cancer treatment will soon be provided free-of-charge to all those who need it. The national scheme for medical screening and testing for cancer will soon become operational, and all those individuals who are suspected of having cancer as a result of being screened will be provided with free medical care and treatment.

It should be noted that in October 2023 a special fund to support patients suffering from rare, hard-to-treat and incurable diseases was set-up at "Salamat Insurance Corp", aiming to support all those patients who suffered from rare or difficult-to-treat diseases. "Salamat Insurance Corp" is one of Iran's biggest medical insurance companies.

In the past year, 107 groups of patients have been given the go-ahead to use this special fund.  The fund aims to cover all the expenses that patients have to pay when they receive medical treatment for their condition. This is in addition to the normal expenses that medical insurance companies routinely cover and reimburse patients.
