Pars Today – “Iranian Carpet Art Day” was held at the conference hall of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Berlin, with the participation of several ambassadors and diplomats residing in Germany, as well as a group of enthusiasts of authentic Iranian culture and art.

According to Pars Today, citing ISNA, during the event, Majid Neili, Iran’s ambassador to Germany, described Iranian carpets as a symbol of art, patience, and the creativity of the Iranian people, emphasizing their important role in introducing Iran’s rich culture to the world.

The ambassador also highlighted the historical role of Iranian carpets in developing bilateral relations between Iran and Germany and called the establishment of a joint Iran-Germany Carpet House an opportunity to expand and facilitate interactions in this field.

In a video message, Zahra Kamani, head of Iran’s National Carpet Center, spoke about the historical, artistic, and economic significance of Iranian handwoven carpets, as well as the longstanding presence of Iranian carpet professionals in Germany. She praised the efforts of Iranian artists and weavers in preserving the authenticity of this ancient art while fostering innovation.

The event showcased exquisite carpets from various regions of Iran, reflecting the country’s cultural and artistic diversity, and received enthusiastic appreciation from attendees.

Other highlights of the ceremony included a workshop on Iranian carpet design maps conducted by two renowned masters in the field and a video presentation showcasing the beauty of Iranian carpets.

Additionally, some guests participated in tying “knots of friendship” on a carpet loom, symbolizing cultural bonds and friendship between nations.

As one of the most recognized symbols of Iranian culture and art, Iranian carpets have long held a special place globally, representing the creativity, skill, and patience of Iranian artisans. Germany, historically, has also been a major center for Iranian carpet traders in Europe.
