Pars Today – Iran's Majlis (parliament) Speaker wrote on his personal social media page on Thursday: “Pakistan is a friend for all times.”

According to Pars Today, during the official visit of Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Iran's Majlis Speaker, to Pakistan, he held important meetings with senior officials of the country, including the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Chairman of the Senate, and the Acting President of Pakistan.

The three-day visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations—particularly in the economic and parliamentary spheres—is considered a turning point in Tehran–Islamabad relations.

In his meeting with Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of the National Assembly of Pakistan, Qalibaf expressed his pleasure at being in Islamabad and thanked the people of Pakistan for their support in the face of the Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran. He called this support a sign of the deep friendship between the two nations and emphasized the need to enhance parliamentary cooperation.

The Iranian Speaker also referred to the Islamic Republic’s firm response to the recent Zionist regime’s aggression against Iran, describing it as the most unprecedented blow dealt to that regime since its establishment.

Highlighting the shared interests of Iran and Pakistan, Qalibaf said that cooperation between the two countries is essential to confront the excessive ambitions of the Zionist regime and its supporters. He added that Tehran and Islamabad can engage in extensive cooperation in political, economic, and cultural fields. One of the main goals of this trip, he noted, was to increase trade volume and expand economic relations between Iran and Pakistan.

For his part, Ayaz Sadiq, Speaker of Pakistan’s National Assembly, congratulated the Iranian people on their recent victory, described the Zionist regime as a common enemy of both nations, and stated that “Iran and Pakistan are one nation living on two sides of the border.”

Sadiq also announced that Pakistan’s Parliament had passed a resolution condemning Israel’s attack on Iran and stressed the need to develop a new strategy for joint cooperation.

Later in the trip, Qalibaf met with Seyed Yusuf Gilani, Chairman of the Senate and Acting President of Pakistan, and the two sides discussed recent regional and international developments, parliamentary interactions, and opportunities to boost bilateral trade.

Gilani emphasized the importance of increasing people-to-people exchanges and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to regional peace and stability.

Additionally, a formal meeting of the Iran–Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Groups was held to explore ways of increasing exchanges between parliamentary and economic delegations.

The meeting, co-chaired by Fadahossein Maleki and Seyed Naveed Qamar, stressed achieving shared benefits through broader cooperation.

Qalibaf’s visit to Islamabad—which also included scheduled meetings with Pakistan’s Prime Minister, business leaders, and trips to Lahore and Karachi—is regarded as an effective step toward regional synergy and the deepening of strategic ties between the two friendly and neighboring countries.
