Pars Today — An Iranian international affairs expert, analyzing recent actions by Washington and Tel Aviv regarding Iran, said that U.S. threats against Iran are more political and psychological blackmail than real.

Mostafa Khoshcheshm, an Iranian expert on international affairs, said that the failure of the Zionist regime’s multi-layered plans in the “12-day war” against Iran marked a turning point, showing that the enemy not only failed to weaken Iran’s military capabilities, but that Iran’s internal cohesion has actually increased.

According to Pars Today, he added that after the cessation of the war, the United States and the Zionist regime tried other paths to compensate for their failure—from hybrid warfare and cyberattacks to diplomatic pressure and efforts to activate the snapback mechanism. Focusing on economic problems and turning discontent into unrest, he said, was also part of the same strategy.

According to Khoshcheshm, the United States and Israel sought to create unrest, activate terrorist cells, and even lay the groundwork for occupying parts of Iranian cities, but all of these scenarios ended in complete failure.

The Iranian expert stressed that Iran’s power structure and the heavy costs of any confrontation have forced the United States to limit itself to creating an atmosphere of fear and media pressure, lacking the courage to enter a real war. For this reason, he said, U.S. threats against Iran are more political and psychological blackmail than genuine.
