US excessive demands prevented reaching common framework
Pars Today – Despite roughly 21 hours of negotiations and diplomatic efforts by the Iranian delegation in Pakistan, the Americans’ excessive demands prevented an agreement from being reached.
According to Pars Today, during about 21 hours of intensive negotiations and consultations in Islamabad, Pakistan, the Iranian negotiating team, by standing firm on the fundamental rights of the Iranian people in various political, military, and peaceful nuclear technology areas, prevented the realization of the United States’ excessive demands.
The Americans sought to obtain concessions they had failed to gain through war — including issues related to the Strait of Hormuz and the removal of nuclear materials from Iran — at the negotiating table; however, the Iranian delegation blocked these attempts.
It is said that the Iranian team, through various initiatives, tried to steer the American side toward reaching a common framework, but the Americans’ inclination toward excessive demands prevented rationality and realism and ultimately blocked an agreement.
After several rounds of negotiations, the Iranian delegation left Islamabad.
