Pezeshkian: Iran’s policy of engagement with countries is based on mutual respect

Pars Today – The President of Iran emphasized the need to expand political, economic, and cultural relations with Belarus, stating: “The Islamic Republic of Iran pursues a policy of active and balanced engagement with countries that act on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests.”
According to Pars Today, Masoud Pezeshkian, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, and Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, held a telephone conversation on Thursday to discuss the deepening of bilateral relations between Tehran and Minsk, as well as the latest regional and international developments.
During the conversation, Pezeshkian briefed the Belarusian president on the latest developments regarding the ceasefire and the Iran–U.S. talks in Islamabad, as well as aggressive actions by the United States and the Zionist regime in violation of the ceasefire understanding.
He stressed the necessity of halting rhetoric by U.S. officials and provocative actions by that government in order to build Iran’s trust, demonstrate seriousness in pursuing talks aimed at a definitive end to the war, and avoid repeating past experiences.
Pezeshkian also emphasized the need to expand political, economic, and cultural relations with Belarus, saying: “The Islamic Republic of Iran pursues a policy of active and balanced engagement with countries that act on the basis of mutual respect and shared interests.”
Alexander Lukashenko, President of Belarus, also stated during the conversation that Belarus views its relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran as strategic and steadily developing.
Expressing concern over escalating tensions in the West Asia region and their security and economic consequences for the region and the world, Lukashenko voiced hope that differences would be resolved through dialogue.
The Belarusian president added that without mutual trust, negotiations cannot reach a lasting outcome, and emphasized the importance of strengthening trust‑building measures among the parties.
