Pars Today – The Speaker of Iran’s Parliament emphasized during a meeting with Pakistan’s Interior Minister that some regional governments believed the U.S. presence would bring them security, but recent events have shown that this presence not only fails to create security, but also contributes to instability.
According to IRIB News Agency, Syed Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s Interior Minister, who is visiting Tehran, met and held talks on Sunday evening with Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, Speaker of Iran’s Parliament.
During the meeting, Qalibaf referred to recent developments in the region and said: “The recent imposed war against Iran showed that the United States and the Zionist regime bring nothing but evil and insecurity to all nations and countries in our region. Some regional governments believed that America’s presence would provide them with security, but recent events demonstrated that this presence is not only incapable of creating security, but also lays the groundwork for insecurity.”
He stressed that the countries of the region, through mutual trust and cooperation, should create conditions for expanding economic relations as well as political and security cooperation among themselves.
For his part, Syed Mohsin Naqvi stated: “The peoples of Iran and Pakistan were already close to one another, but now they have become even closer, and I feel that the two nations truly care for each other. Pakistanis pray day and night for the success of the Iranian government and nation.”
