Rouhani hails Iraq's achievements in anti-terror fight

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani in a meeting with Iraqi Parliament Speaker Salim al-Jabouri in Tehran lauded efforts by Baghdad's government to fight the terrorist and extremist groups.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always sought a united Iraq and the prevention of change to the geographical border of regional countries," President Rouhani said during the meeting with the Iraqi parliament speaker in the Iranian capital on Tuesday.

The Iranian president lauded the Iraqi nation's fight against terrorism and foiling the enemies' plots to sow discord among the Iraqis.

The Iraqi parliament speaker, for his part, said Muslim countries should boost constructive interaction and cooperation to solve the ongoing problems in the Muslim world.

"Iran plays a constructive and positive role in finding solutions to regional problems," Jabouri added.
