A large number of Arab members of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) defected the US-backed group in Eastern Deir Ezzur after popular uprising against the SDF.
Media activists in Eastern Syria reported on Sunday that hundreds of residents of the towns of al-Hesan and al-Hawayej have held protest rallies against the SDF and closed the roads, calling for the freedom of detained people.
They added that the uprising was held after the detention of the leader of al-Bakarah tribe by the SDF, noting that a number of Arab SDF forces have also defected the group after the uprising.
The SDF has in recent weeks arrested tens of civilians under different pretexts, including cooperation with the Daesh, in Hasaka and Deir Ezzur provinces.
