Yemenis hold demonstrations in support of Gaza, condemn Quran desecration
Pars Today – Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis held a march titled “Mobilization and Readiness in Support of the Holy Quran and Palestine”, carrying copies of the Quran and chanting protest slogans to express their support for the Holy Quran and the oppressed people of Palestine.
According to Pars Today, participants in Friday’s large-scale march emphasized that any insult to the Holy Quran is considered an attack on the entire Muslim community, and that the Yemeni people are prepared to resist and confront their enemies in all arenas. The demonstrators stated that the Yemeni commitment to the Quran is a firm matter of faith, and no pressure or attack can divert them from the path of resistance. They also stressed the full readiness of the Yemeni people to confront their enemies and support the oppressed people of Palestine. In Sana’a and other cities across the country, Yemenis took to the streets in large numbers to condemn the desecration of the Holy Quran.
In a final statement, the demonstrators stressed that repeated insults to the Holy Quran are not isolated incidents, but part of a broader war led by the U.S., the Israeli regime, and the U.K., carried out with international complicity and the shameful silence of Arab countries, targeting the identity, faith, and holy sites of the Muslim community.
The statement added that the massive turnout of the Yemeni people in this march reflects a firm opposition to any insult to the Holy Quran, a reaffirmation of their steadfast faith in support of the oppressed people of Palestine, and a declaration of full mobilization and readiness to confront any threats aimed at Yemen and the region.
The statement called for a boycott of American and Israeli goods as a moral and religious response to the escalating insults by these countries against Muslim sacred values.
Participants in the march also renewed their pledge to stand against the oppression and aggression of the Zionist regime, declaring that Yemen will remain steadfast alongside the Holy Quran and the oppressed people of Palestine.
A few days ago, a candidate in the upcoming U.S. congressional elections insulted the Holy Quran and set it on fire to attract the attention of far-right groups in the country. While burning the Muslim holy book, he vowed that if elected to Congress, he would put an end to the presence of Islam in Texas. This Islamophobic individual, who has a political history of supporting U.S. President Donald Trump, claimed that Muslims aim to take over Christian countries.
