Leaflets dropped on Iraq's Hawija to urge militants to surrender
Thousands of leaflets were dropped by the Iraqi troops over the territories remaining under the control of the militants in southwest of Kirkuk, urging the terrorists to surrender.
The leaflets, according to a local commander, also called on civilians from the villages in the area to leave before an operation will start, BasNews reported.
These areas are located on the vicinity of Hawija district of Kirkuk Province, which is still under the control of Daesh, and considered as the group’s last strategic pocket in Iraq.
The Peshmerga forces are ready at any given moment to launch an operation to rescue the trapped civilians and inflict the militants with the final defeat in the area.
The Iraqi army, together with the mobilization forces, are now preparing for the Hawija liberation operation.
