Mogherini: EU recognizes 'international consensus' on al-Quds
EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini has dismissed Tel Aviv's call on the European Union to follow US lead and recognize al-Quds as Zionist entity's capital.
According to Press TV, Mogherini said Monday the bloc would continue to recognize the "international consensus" on al-Quds as she met Benjamin Netanyahu in Brussels where the Israeli premier arrived for a meeting of EU foreign ministers.
Mogherini repeated the European Union's commitment to the so-called two-state solution and that it was in Israel's interest to find a sustainable solution to its conflict with the Palestinians.
The EU, she said, would step up its peace efforts and would hold talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas next month.
