Iraqis are calling for a firm position against the presence of US forces in the country
A senior Iraqi legislator underlined opposition to the presence of the US military men in his country in the alleged fight against the terrorist groups.
"The (US-led) international coalition against the Daesh has not sustained any loss in Iraq despite what it claims," member of the Iraqi Parliament's National Security and Defense Commission Nayef al-Shamri said on Saturday.
He noted that the victory against the Takfiri terrorist group of Daesh was the result of the Iraqi nation's sacrifices, adding that there is no need for the US military troops in Iraq.
His remarks came after Iraq's Kata'ib Hezbollah (Hezbollah Battalions) group warned the US military forces last month to leave the Arab country voluntarily or wait for dire consequences.
Kata'ib Hezbollah was quoted by al-Aba news channel as saying in a statement that Washington is attempting to deploy its military forces in Iraq again under false pretexts.
It cautioned the Americans not to think of returning to Iraq or they will be forced to leave the country.
The statement also called on the Iraqi parliament to adopt a firm position against the presence of US forces in Iraq.
