  • NATO pursues development of nuclear weapons / Russia: Biden needs more bloodshed in Europe

Pars Today - The member countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) are consulting on preparing nuclear weapons.

NATO's Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg considers the organization an atomic alliance and claims that NATO's goal is a world free of nuclear weapons.

According to Pars Today, Stoltenberg claimed, "A world where Russia, China, and North Korea have nuclear weapons and NATO does not, is a more dangerous world."

The NATO Secretary-General added, "The United States and its European allies are currently modernizing their nuclear arsenals."

Meanwhile, the Kremlin's spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, responded to Stoltenberg's statements, saying, "Such rhetoric is nothing but a step towards increasing tensions."

Maria Zakharova, the spokesperson for Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, also warned Europeans about NATO's plans to oblige all members to send weapons to Ukraine, saying, "Europe should be aware that Washington is dragging them into direct confrontation with Russia under the NATO flag."

Zakharova emphasized, "Joe Biden, the President of the United States, needs more bloodshed in Europe to stay in power."

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also stated at the recent NATO defense ministers' meeting in Brussels that European allies will increase their military spending to share the burden fairly with the United States.

This comes as Lloyd Austin, the US Defense Secretary, has recently emphasized that there are no plans to expand NATO in the near future.

Hungary, as a strategic partner of Russia, has announced that NATO plans to establish three military bases to supply weapons to Ukraine.

Viktor Orban, Hungary's Prime Minister, said that if these bases are established in countries bordering Ukraine, such as Poland, Romania, and Slovakia, they will become military targets.
